After many years working in magazine layout, Issue 8 of Torment Snowboarding marked a first book design project. Editor and Creative Director Ian Boll brought this collaboration together to establish a cohesive visual through-line across the publication while allowing individual photo collections to stand on their own. The design system centered around bold typographic headlines, layered textures, and distinct layout treatments that shift with the tone of each section. While the structure unified the book as a whole, the layouts intentionally stepped back when needed, giving space for the photography to lead and for each body of work to maintain its own rhythm and identity.
